With Leeds United gunning for promotion to the Premier League, where would the Elland Road giants finish in the top-flight?

Despite recently falling out of the Championship play-off places on nothing but goal-difference, the playoffs, and therefore promotion is still very much the hope for Leeds United this season. Many didn’t expect Garry Monk to have such a massive impact on his new side, but no one will care should the White emerge victorious at Wembley and return to the top flight. But could promotion come too soon?

Some say that the best way to get promoted is after years of slowly building a team and taking the league by storm. Brighton and Hove Albion, who have recently been gone up to the Premier League, are a good example of this. Leeds United have seemingly come out of nowhere, and could well face a tough time in the top tier should they be promoted.

So, would Leeds United survive in the Premier League? HITC Sport went to meet Leeds fans, to get their views and opinions…

Plenty of Leeds fans were feeling pretty confident about their club’s chances of surviving relegation. One fan said the club had a good chance of finishing 16th, claiming that he was just being “realistic” by not predicting any higher. “11th-12th, we’ll be about there!” added another Leeds United fan, who was brimming with confidence about the Championship run in.

Other fans were a little more optimistic. One supporter believed the club could well grab themselves a Champions League place, especially with Chris Wood up front. The reasoning behind it…”because we’re Leeds, aren’t we?”
