The Toffees have highlighted Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, should the Belgian leave Goodison Park in the summer, according to the Mirror, on page 49 of Monday's printed edition.

Whilst Steve Bruce would surely want to keep the Ivorian, he may be tempted into doing business, should the Blues offer a significant amount, especially if the deal was sweetened by the inclusion of one or two Everton stars.

Here is a look at three Toffees players who the Villans could push for, should they decide to sanction Kodjia's exit...

James McCarthy:

The Republic of Ireland international has struggled with both fitness and form this season.

The 26-year-old still has a lot to offer, however, and could bring a certain level of tenacity to the Villa midfield.

That combined with his accomplished passing ability could prove to be vital to their hopes of earning promotion back to the Premier League next season.

Aaron Lennon:

The speedy winger is certainly not the player he once was, having lost half a yard of pace over the past year or so.

The 29-year-old still has an abundance of quality though, and his vast experience would be a major asset to Bruce's side.

It could be the case that Lennon needs a change of scenery in order to breath life back into his flagging career, and Villa Park could be the ideal place for him to do just that.

Arouna Kone:

The 33-year-old has barely featured for Everton this season, but could still do a job, especially in England's second tier.

His contract is due to expire at Goodison Park this summer, so including him as part of any kind of deal for Kodjia would be totally feasible.

He is renowned for playing off the shoulder of the last defender, and would offer Steve Bruce an entirely different option to those he currently has at his disposal.
