Tottenham's Victor Wanyama in action with Hull City's Harry Maguire
The Hammers may have pulled themselves away from the relegation zone in recent months, but just two points in the last five games and three straight defeats have piled the pressure back on manager Slaven Bilic.
After a disastrous transfer window last summer, the Hammers must do better this time around – and they are allegedly pursuing defensive reinforcements despite landing Jose Fonte from Southampton in January.
The Daily Star report that West Ham remain keen on Hull City centre back Harry Maguire, with the intention of adding him to the likes of Fonte, Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna.
The 24-year-old has starred for Hull this season, not only with his defensive ability but also with his talent on the ball, and if the Tigers suffer relegation to the Championship, he is bound to have a number of potential suitors.
If Maguire does come in, then he could replace James Collins, with the report claiming that the Welshman is one of five players poised to lave the London Stadium this summer.
Tottenham's Danny Rose in action with West Ham's Diafra Sakho
Alvaro Arbeloa, who joined on a free transfer back in August, is set to leave when his contract expires this summer, whilst loanees Gokhan Tore and Jonathan Calleri will be sent back to parent clubs Besiktas and Deportivo Maldonado.
Finally, striker Diafra Sakho – once an important player under Sam Allardyce – could be sold to raise funds for other signings after an injury-hit campaign, with the Senegal international struggling for fitness this term.
