According to The Mirror, Leeds United boss Garry Monk is wanted by three Championship clubs, with Derby County, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest monitoring his situation.

The Whites landed Monk as their new manager following Steve Evans’ departure last summer, with the 37-year-old keen to rebuild his reputation having been sacked by Swansea City in 2015.

After something of a slow start to life at Elland Road, Monk has become the longest-serving manager under Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, guiding Leeds to their best season in many years.

Last weekend’s 1-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday leaves the Whites in fourth place in the Championship table, with fans dreaming of a return to the Premier League through the play-offs.

However, Monk is only on a one-year contract at Elland Road, meaning he could walk away at the end of the season unless Leeds tie up a new deal with their promising young manager.

Now, The Mirror report that three Championship rivals are monitoring Monk’s situation, with Derby County, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest all allegedly interested should he fail to agree a new contract.

Derby started well under Steve McClaren having parted ways with Nigel Pearson earlier this season, but their play-off push has fallen apart in recent weeks, and McClaren could pay the price this summer, with Monk a target.

Meanwhile, Norwich may choose to move on from Alex Neil at the end of the season, given that the Scot is set to miss out on a play-off place following relegation from the Premier League, and the Canaries may hope to land Monk as his replacement.

Finally, Nottingham Forest will be looking for a long-term manager having sacked Philippe Montanier in January, and whilst Gary Brazil is in charge until the end of the season, Monk could be viewed as the long-term solution at the City Ground – meaning Leeds have to move quickly to seal a new contract with Monk.
