Everton signed Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Jamie Carragher has admitted to Sky Sports that he cannot understand why Morgan Schneiderlin was not a success at Manchester United.

Everton signed Schneiderlin from United during the January transfer window, after the French international had spent a disappointing 18 months at Old Trafford.

The former Southampton man was never able to break into United’s first-team for a sustained period of time during his spell with the Red Devils.

And Everton jumped at their opportunity to sign Schneiderlin last month, with the 27-year-old being their most expensive addition during the January transfer window.

Ronald Koeman’s faith in Schneiderlin has already been rewarded, as he has been an excellent addition.

Everton have looked much improved with Schneiderlin in their midfield, and Carragher believes that he will prove to be a superb addition for the Toffees.

“I think Morgan Schneiderlin has been a brilliant signing, I really do,” the Sky Sports pundit said.

“I still can’t quite work out how it didn’t work out for him at Manchester United, because I think he’s a really top player.

“They made good signings, and the confidence going forward with the manager bodes well for the future.”

Schneiderlin is still yet to taste defeat since moving to Everton, with Koeman’s side’s latest victory coming against Sunderland last weekend.

Everton are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Tottenham Hotspur.
