The on-loan West Bromwich Albion winger has struggled for game time since moving to Sheffield Wednesday.

Sheffield Wednesday fans in numbers have tweeted on-loan winger Callum McManaman after Tuesday’s home defeat to Brentford.

The Owls were made to pay for a slow start against the bottom-half side, with headers from John Egan and Harlee Dean putting the Bees two up at the break.

And though Carlos Carvalhal’s side rallied after the break, Fernando Forestieri’s fine strike three minutes into stoppage time proved too little too late for the hosts, who were left to rue a combination of their own profligacy and the heroics of Brentford goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.

Wednesday remain sixth despite the setback, while McManaman’s late cameo was at least another positive to take home.

The West Bromwich Albion winger has had to wait for his chance since arriving at Hillsborough on loan in January, starting one league game for his temporary employers so far.

But with arguably their biggest game of the season coming up on Saturday, against fifth-place Leeds United, Owls fans believe McManaman’s time has finally come.
