Blackburn Rovers have parted company with manager Owen Coyle
Coyle left Ewood Park by mutual consent on Tuesday, with Rovers 23rd in the second tier and three points adrift of safety.
A Blackburn statement read the search for the Scot's successor will begin with immediate effect and the bookies are already throwing names in the direction of south east Lancashire.
Hasselbaink, who left Queens Park Rangers in November, tops the list of contenders with odds of 7/2, while Jackett, recently of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rotherham United, is next on the list at 5/1.
Former Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill is also at 5/1, with Dougie Freedman (11/2), Nigel Adkins (6/1) and former Blackburn midfielder Tim Sherwood (7/1) all shorter than 10s.
Before taking the reins at QPR, Hasselbaink led Burton Albion into League One for the first time ever, but struggled to arrest the London side's slide down the Championship amid sizeable budget cuts.
Jackett has also enjoyed success in England's lower leagues, steering both Millwall and Wolves into the second tier this decade.
