The Spaniard offered his take on the Arsenal manager's future.
Arsenal's Lucas Perez
Gunners forward Lucas Perez lifted the lid on the current mood that Arsene Wenger has been transmitting at the club, when speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, and insisted that the Frenchman remains as focused as he ever has been.
The Arsenal boss has come in for heavy criticism in recent weeks, after heavy defeats to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and back-to-back losses against Watford and Chelsea respectively in the Premier League.
And last night's 2-0 FA Cup win over lowly Sutton United did little to ease the pressure on the under-fire Frenchman, with many Gunners fans expecting a far more convincing scoreline against their non-league opposition.
"It's normal that after the defeat to Bayern there were criticisms. At the moment he does not transmit us the idea that he is going to leave, but we do not know what's going on in his mind. He is very excited about this season. He is calm."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
The 28-year-old former Deportivo La Coruna striker has been in excellent form of late, despite being given limited opportunities to impress at the Emirates, and many Arsenal fans have been calling on Wenger to start the Spaniard more regularly.
And if the Gunners boss wants to get the fans back on side, he should seriously consider including Perez in his starting line-up over their upcoming games.
His energetic style of play would be infectious to his teammates, and maybe just what they need to help kick-start their season once again.
