Aston Villa are currently in a disappointing 16th place in the Championship table.
Steve Bruce has appealed to Tony Xia for time at Aston Villa, with his comments in the Birmingham Mail.
Bruce has not sparked the improvement in Villa that many expected, and the claret and blues sit in 16th place in the Championship table.
Villa had made no secret of their desire to get promoted immediately back to the Premier League at the start of the season, but this campaign has not worked out as expected.

Villa have never managed to threaten the play off spaces, and their hopes of finishing in the top six are surely over.
Worryingly, Bruce’s side’s form seems to be getting worse, rather than better – despite a big spend in the January transfer window.
Villa lost to Ipswich Town in their most recent outing, and they have still not won in 2017.
However, Bruce insists that he is on the right tracks at Villa Park, and he is hopeful that Xia will give him the time to put things right.

He said: “I know, given time I will get there, the big thing we all preach now is time,” he said. “We need continuity.
“Of course, I need a few results to get that going but I’m determined in my approach that I will get there and we will get there and take the club forward.
“Hopefully we’re at the bottom of the pile with how low we can get. Because it doesn’t get much worse than what we’re going through.
“We’re mid-table in the Championship which is not good enough for a club like ours.”
