The Sun reports Queens Park Rangers are desperate to offload Steven Caulker after a proposed move to Lokomotiv Moscow collapsed.

Caulker is said to have completed a medical at Lokomotiv’s winter training camp in Spain, only for the Russian side to balk at his £40,000-a-week wages.

According to the Sun, the cash-rich clubs of Russia and China are QPR’s best hope of offloading former England international, with both countries’ transfer windows staying open until the end of February.

However, it is claimed there has been no interest from the latter, despite another winter influx of European-based players – including ex-Loftus Road man Tjaronn Chery, who joined Guizhou Zhicheng last month.

Fit-again Caulker has not featured for the R’s under new manager Ian Holloway, who managed to shift fellow high earners Sebastian Polter, Sando and Chery in January.

And loaning out the 25-year-old, even until the end of the Russian season in May, could save the Championship side in excess of £400,000.

Does Caulker still have a future at Queens Park Rangers?
