With summer target lists likely already being drawn up, could the Aberdeen shot-stopper be worth a look for Celtic and Rangers?
With the January transfer window now over the shoulder, football clubs all over the country are likely to be compiling lists of targets for the summer, as they prepare for next season. Amongst these clubs are Glasgow giants Celtic and Rangers, though both these clubs are currently in largely different positions financially.
Top of both these club’s transfer lists could well be a new goalkeeper, albeit for different reasons, and one candidate in the Scottish top flight stands out: Aberdeen shot-stropper Joe Lewis.
The Englishman, who joined The Dons in the summer from Cardiff City, has been in fine form for Derek McInnes’ side this season, with the club currently sat second in the top flight of Scottish football.

Helping Aberdeen to gain the second best goal-difference record in the division, Joe Lewis has been one of the top keepers in Scottish football this season. But could Aberdeen be facing a battle to keep hold of their goalie?
Celtic, who have enjoyed one of the best seasons in the club’s history, are looking excellent under new manager Brendan Rodgers, going from strength to strength week by week. However, many of their squad members have been drawing fans from some of England’s biggest clubs, and Celtic may be in with a fight to keep hold of some of these in the summer.
One of these is Celtic’s Craig Gordon, who has been in sensational form this season, and was linked with a move to Chelsea by the Daily Mail in January, with Antonio Conte looking for a new back-up for Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois.

Rangers are in a largely different position, however. Financially not as secure, the club have recently been involved in an amount of managerial drama, with Mark Warburton seemingly leaving the club. However, with Ibrox still packed week in week out, Rangers still have a massive amount of pulling power in the SPL.
Rangers may also be looking for a new keeper in the summer too, with the performances of Wes Foderingham coming into question. The keeper, who was signed by Mark Warburton from Swindon Town, splits opinion at Ibrox, and his position could come under consideration in the summer.

So could Joe Lewis be a top target for these two Glasgow giants? Would the shot-stopper be interested in a move away? Or is the project at Aberdeen appealing enough to keep Joe Lewis where he is?
