Tottenham Hotspur’s desire was questioned by Mauricio Pochettino, after their defeat to Liverpool.
Hugo Lloris has told the London Evening Standard that he agrees with Mauricio Pochettino’s criticism of his Tottenham Hotspur squad, after their defeat against Liverpool.
Pochettino was scathing with his statements after Spurs were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool at Anfield.
The Argentine boss questions Tottenham’s desire, after watching them fold on Merseyside.
And Spurs captain Lloris insists that he agrees with Pochettino’s words after the game.
“We cannot fail in this area of the game,” Pochettino said.
“The aggression has to be natural, especially against top teams.
“We need to learn a lot from the Liverpool game. My feeling is that this was not the first time we had started a game in this way. We did it at Manchester City and even at Manchester United (where Spurs lost 1-0 in December).”
Tottenham have now only won once in 15 away games against the current top six, since Pochettino has been in charge.
Spurs were well beaten by Liverpool, too, and their title hopes could now effectively be over.
Tottenham are still in second place in the Premier League table, but they have a 10 point deficit on Chelsea to make up.
Tottenham are next in action on Thursday evening, when they take on Gent in the Europa League.
