Can Tottenham Hotspur catch Chelsea despite the defeat to Liverpool on Saturday evening?
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told BBC Sport (19:51) that his side are going to find it tough to win the Premier League this season.
Pochettino made the comments following Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
First-half goals from Sadio Mane proved to be enough for the Merseyside outfit to pick up all three points from the encounter.

The defeat to Liverpool means that Tottenham will go 12 points behind leaders and London rivals Chelsea if the Blues win against Burnley away from home at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs manager Pochettino has admitted that it is going to be hard for his side to catch Chelsea.

“We need to show more, in the end we will fight for top six but it’s difficult to fight for the Premier League,” Pochettino told BBC Sport (19:51).
The Argentine boss has also criticised Tottenham’s performance in the first half.

“The whole team were poor,” Pochettino told BBC Sport (19:46). “It is about balance and today it was poor, that is the truth. We are in a position that is up to us.
“But if you show like today that you cannot cope with the pressure to play to win the league then it is difficult to challenge and fight for the Premier League. In the first 45 minutes you saw a team that is not ready to fight for the Premier League.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield on Saturday evening, hosts Liverpool had 51% of the possession, took 17 shots of which nine were on target, and earned 10 corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Tottenham had 49% of the possession, took seven shots of which two were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
