Mark Warburton has reacted angrily to Rangers’ statement claiming he has resigned.
Mark Warburton has told The Scottish Sun that he has ‘no idea’ what Rangers are talking about after the Ibrox club claimed the manager had resigned.
Earlier this evening, Rangers published a statement on their official website claiming that Warburton – along with his assistant manager David Weir and recruitment chief Frank McParland – had all resigned from their positions with the club.

It has been a rocky road for Warburton this season; after winning promotion from the Scottish Championship last season, and beating Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals, fans had dreams of challenging Celtic for the title.
Big-name signings like Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar arrived, but the fact that Barton was released after just eight games and Kranjcar is out for the season with a knee injury sum up the season Rangers have endured.

More recently, a 4-1 defeat at Hearts and a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Ross County have piled the pressure on manager Warburton ahead of Sunday’s Scottish Cup clash with Morton.
Some felt that the game would decide Warburton’s immediate future, but many were left stunned when Rangers posted a statement on their official website claiming that Warburton, Weir and McParland had resigned.
To add to the confusion, Warburton has now spoken to The Scottish Sun about the situation, claiming that the statement is ‘scandalous’ as he has no idea what Rangers are talking about.
Warburton claims he hasn’t resigned, and was told by e-mail to read Rangers’ statement, meaning Gers fans will have to keep tabs on this bizarre situation over the weekend.
“What’s going on? This is scandalous, I’ve no idea what they’re talking about,” said Warburton. “I haven’t resigned. I’ve never resigned — I’ve no idea what they’re talking about. I was advised by an email to read an urgent letter. But, I tell you, I haven’t resigned,” he added.
