Rangers boss Warburton is under increasing pressure after the Ibrox side slipped to third in the Scottish Premiership standings.
The Scottish Sun has put forward four names that would feature among the early contenders to replace Rangers manager Mark Warburton, were the Englishman to lose his job.
Warburton is under increasing pressure at Ibrox, with his side slipping to third in the Premiership standings and 27 points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic.

According to former Bhoys midfielder turned pundit Davie Provan, the 53-year-old could be out of a job as early as this weekend if Rangers lose against Morton.

And the Scottish Sun suggests that current Premiership bosses Derek McInnes (Aberdeen) and Tommy Wright (St Johnstone) would be considered as Warburton’s successor, along with out-of-work pair Billy Davies and Alex McLeish – the former Rangers manager.
As far as Provan is concerned, there would be no shortage of interest were the post to become available.
“There would be a queue around the block for the job because of the size and potential of the club,” said the 60-year-old.

“McInnes’ name has already been mentioned and that’s maybe a little bit unfair when Warburton is still in the chair, but I don’t think there would be any shortage of people who would want the job.”

McLeish won the league twice in his five seasons as Ibrox boss, delivering a domestic treble in 2003.
Aside from winning the English League Cup with Birmingham City six years ago, the 58-year-old has had little success since then, however, and recently had short spells abroad with Genk and Zamalek.
