The Tottenham Hotspur player has failed to fulfil his potential since moving to England but is it wise to give up on him so soon?

According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Wolfsburg and Galatasaray are continuing to monitor Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen ahead of a possible summer move.

The Netherlands international arrived at White Hart Lane after a superb campaign in his homeland, where he finished the season as top-scorer in the Eredivisie.

However things have not gone according to plan since he made the switch to London and Janssen is yet to score from open play, with all his five goals to date coming from the penalty spot.

Now it is being claimed that Galatasaray and Wolfsburg, who were both interested in signing Janssen in January, are not giving up and it will be interesting to see what Tottenham do in the summer.

Spurs were reportedly unwilling to part company with Janssen all the time they had limited options up front. However the summer will give Mauricio Pochettino another chance to strengthen in key areas and a new forward is surely top of his wish list.

The question then comes: Should Tottenham cut their losses on a player who has failed to live up to the hype thus far?

There is no doubt Janssen can score in Holland, but his worrying lack of form sees him shorn of confidence and on recent evidence it may be better to get what they can for the 22-year-old rather than persevere in the hope he comes good.

Only Pochettino and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy can make that decision but it could determine just how many new forwards the club sign in the close season.
