Manchester City’s Joe Hart would be a good signing for Liverpool, suggests Stan Collymore.

Stan Collymore has suggested on Boylesports.com that Liverpool should sign Joe Hart from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Hart joined Italian club Torino on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit City in the summer of 2016.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper is playing well for the Serie A outfit at the moment, and former Liverpool striker Collymore has suggested that the Reds should make a move for him in the summer.

“In the summer, Klopp needs to swallow his pride and get a top drawer keeper,” Collymore wrote on Boylesports.com.

“One with a presence who the fans and most importantly the back four can be confident of playing in front of.

“He must have the confidence of a champion and have a point to prove. Joe Hart anyone? Head and shoulders above the potential candidates for me.”

The problem

Hart is a very good goalkeeper and has a lot of experience of playing in the Premier League and in the Champions League.

While the England international would be a decent signing for Liverpool, the problem is that City may not be too inclined to sell him to a direct rival.

After all, Liverpool under manager Jurgen Klopp have shown that they can compete with the best teams and challenge for Champions League places.

The Reds are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 46 points from 24 matches, while City are currently third in the standings.
