Cheick Tiote has only made three appearances for Newcastle United this season.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Cheick Tiote is now desperate to leave Newcastle United and secure a long-term contract at a new club.
Tiote is expected to depart St. James’ Park in the near future, with Shandong Luneng in China the most likely buyers.
The 30-year-old is currently in China, as he looks to seal a move away from Newcastle.

Tiote is said to be eager to leave Rafael Benitez’s side, after failing to break into the team this season.
The Ivorian has made just three appearances for Newcastle in all competitions this term, with Benitez favouring other options.
Tiote nearly left Newcastle last summer, but the Magpies decided to keep him around.

However, his failure to break into Newcastle’s team this term, has convinced Benitez to part ways with the experienced midfielder.
Newcastle have until the end of the month to sell Tiote, as the Chinese transfer window remains open until then.
