Liam Henderson has made 10 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side this season.
Liam Henderson has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he had no interest in leaving Celtic during the January transfer window.
Henderson went out on loan last season, and he impressed in the Scottish Championship with Hibernian.
The youngster has also spent time with Rosenberg and Hearts over his burgeoning career to date.
Henderson has struggled to break into Celtic’s first-team this season, and he has only made 10 appearances in all competitions since Rodgers took charge.
However, the 20-year-old insists that he had no desire to move out on loan in search of more regular action in January, as he wanted to stay and fight for his place.
“I don’t even know if there was a chance for me to go out on loan last month. I just said that I wanted to remain here and give it my very best shot to get some game time,” Henderson said.
Hibernian were reportedly interested in signing Henderson last month, but the deal never came close to materialising.
Henderson’s decision to stick with Celtic has been vindicated so far, as he featured and scored in Brendan Rodgers’ side’s last match against St. Johnstone.
Henderson could start again for the Bhoys in their next game, which comes against Inverness at the weekend.
