Chris Sutton has slammed Rangers boss Mark Warburton, and highlighted broken promises at Ibrox.
Pundit Chris Sutton has told the Daily Record that he thinks Rangers manager Mark Warburton’s comments about Emerson Hyndman last week were ‘bizarre’.
Hyndman, who joined Rangers on loan from Bournemouth in January, scored the Gers’ only goal in their embarrassing 4-1 defeat away at Hearts last week.
The American midfielder has impressed for Rangers so far, but he was curiously substituted against Hearts with just 61 minutes on the clock, when the Gers were losing 3-1.

Fans slammed manager Mark Warburton for taking Hyndman off, and after the game, Warburton suggested that he had to protect Hyndman fitness-wise, and protect Bournemouth’s asset in the process.
Those comments haven’t gone down too well, given that Warburton’s focus should be on Rangers, and pundit Chris Sutton has offered his view to the Daily Record.

Sutton suggested that Warburton’s comments were ‘bizarre’, and that Rangers fans should be enraged that he is thinking about Bournemouth as much as, or more than what is best for Rangers.
Sutton added that Rangers now look to be a development team for Premier League clubs having taken Hyndman and Arsenal’s Jon Toral on loan, accusing the Gers of broken promises.
The ex-Celtic striker claims that chairman Dave King has broken his promise to invest, Warburton has broken his promise to challenge Celtic, and they have both broken a promise to build for the future.
“There was something that really jumped out for me watching Rangers get hammered at Hearts the other night and then listening to Mark Warburton afterwards,” said Sutton. “I thought it was bizarre for him to take off Emerson Hyndman but even more so when he explained his reasoning afterwards. Warburton said he was a young lad and he had to think about his fitness at Rangers and also about Bournemouth.”
“He has to think about Bournemouth? Any Rangers fans hearing will have been thinking, “Who gives a stuff about Bournemouth?” I was watching a development team the other night. Is that what Rangers are now – a holding camp to keep Eddie Howe or Arsene Wenger happy? Good luck when it comes to the Ibrox club selling season tickets for next year because all I can see are broken promises.”
“Dave King broke his promise to invest in the team. Warburton has broken his promises he’d have a side that could put up a semblance of a fight with Celtic. Both broke their promise to build for the future,” he added.
