Having returned to Queens Park Rangers on loan, can Ravel Morrison resurrect a stuttering, but no doubt talented, career?

After troubled start to the season under former boss, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Queens Park Rangers are now fighting to stay in the Championship. Turning to Ian Holloway, who has come in for a second spell in charge, the Hoops are currently 19th in the league.

Looking to improve his squad throughout the January transfer window, Holloway has brought in a number of players to Loftus Road, including Bristol City’s attacking midfielder Luke Freeman, and Fulham striker Matt Smith. However, it was the signing of Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison, who arrives on loan from the Italian giants, that’s really got QPR fans talking.

A controversial figure, Ravel Morrison is without doubt an extremely talented young player, who has struggled to make the most of his abilities so far in his career. Can Holloway get the best out of him? Is this the move that will jump-start Morrison’s career? HITC Sport ask Queens Park Rangers fans for their thoughts…

Ravel Morrison during his first spell with Queens Park Rangers

“It is a risk, but I think Holloway will probably get the best out of him” replied one QPR fan. Many QPR fans can still remember Morrison from his first spell with the club back in 2014, where he scored six goals in fifteen appearances.

“He’s a bit of a character but he plays with his heart on his sleeve” mentioned another QPR fan, whereas another said “he’s a flair player, we need a bit of creativity in midfield, we lack that.”

“He’s lazy, and he’s got a chip on his shoulder” said one other QPR fan, “but if Holloway can get that out of Morrison, then good luck to him.” Already, the former Manchester United youngster is splitting opinion. Can he prove the doubters wrong?
