The Arsenal manager has had to endure his fair share of criticism over the past few years.

BBC pundit Garth Crooks was highly critical of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger when writing his column for BBC Sport, highlighting how he is beginning to lose perspective, and explained how the Frenchman should consider taking a break away from the game.

Arsenal were apalling during their 3-1 loss to Chelsea on Saturday, and for the majority of the 90 minutes the contest resembled men against boys, as a well-drilled Blues side ran out comfortable winners.

“The very thought of Arsene Wenger considering that the challenge on Bellerin by Alonso was a foul makes me think that the Arsenal manager is starting to lose his perspective. I have an enormous regard for Wenger and his achievements but when you start squaring up to fellow managers and pushing officials you really have to consider whether a break from the profession might be the healthy option.”
