Newcastle reportedly want to take Arsenal’s Kristopher De Graca on trial.
According to The Sun, Newcastle United have asked Arsenal about taking young defender Kristopher De Graca on trial ahead of a possible move for the player.
The Magpies remain on course for a return to the Premier League as they sit top of the Championship, but manager Rafael Benitez is frustrated with the club’s inability to make any signings during the January transfer window.

It seems that Newcastle wanted to wait until the summer to make any big purchases, but they have been looking to add to their Under-23 ranks having landed Stuart Findlay and Yasin Ben El-Mhanni last summer.
With that in mind, it seems that Newcastle could look to bring in another new face for their development squad, as The Sun report that the Magpies are interested in Arsenal’s Kristopher De Graca.

De Graca, 19, joined Arsenal from Hisingsbacka in 2014, but injuries have stunted his development with the Gunners, though he has featured at centre back and right back during his time with the club’s youth sides.
The Swede is allegedly available for transfer though, with Arsenal believing that he won’t make the step-up into the first team, and Newcastle hare believed to have asked about taking him on trial.
Benitez’s men reportedly want to see De Graca in action before making a concrete move for the player, but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal allow the versatile defender to join up with Newcastle for training.
Newcastle plucked Isaac Hayden from Arsenal last summer, and having been discarded by the Gunners, he has become an impressive young player with a big future under Benitez – and the Magpies may be hoping that De Graca can follow a similar path on Tyneside.
