And the West Ham faithful were quick to single out the former Hull City player for praise on social media, with many keen for him to start the Hammers’ upcoming game against Southampton – in place of Sofiane Feghouli.

Snodgrass arrived at the London Stadium at the close of the January transfer window, replacing Hammers rebel Dimitri Payet, who returned to Marseille.

But with his contract expiring in 2018, the Tigers opted to cash in on Snodgrass, who was also the subject of offers from Middlesbrough and Burnley.
