The Leeds United winger is currently on loan and there is little chance of him breaking through when he returns.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk clearly has a thing for wingers, bringing Alfonso Pedraza and Mo Barrow to Elland Road on transfer deadline day, despite already having Hadi Sacko, Stuart Dallas, Souleymane Doukara and Kemar Roofe at his disposal.
But in all the excitement of a late double deal, it is easy to forget that the player who could be most affected by Leeds’ recent business is not even at the club right now.

Jordan Botaka is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic, having failed to justify the highlights reel that accompanied his arrival at Elland Road back in 2015, and assuming Leeds ultimately make some of their loan deals permanent, it is nigh on impossible to see him forcing his way into Monk’s thinking.

There is no doubt Botaka possesses innate skill, however his end product leaves a lot to be desired, and while Leeds fans would have hoped he would take League One by storm he has continued to struggle at Charlton, failing to score in 18 matches and providing just one assist to date.

In short, Botaka has not seized his opportunity, and while managerial changes at The Valley have not helped there seems no way back for the 23-year-old whose time at Elland Road may be remembered for what might have been.
