Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur drew 0-0 at the Stadium of Light yesterday.

Sunderland fans on social media website Twitter have criticised Fabio Borini for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

Sunderland picked up a credible 0-0 draw with Spurs last night, but it could have been so much better.

Borini was presented with a brilliant chance during the contest, but fluffed his lines and wasted his side’s best opportunity to take the three points.

Sunderland supporters do not seem to have forgiven Borini for missing the chance, either, and have slated his display.

If Sunderland could have got the three points against Spurs it would be have been a huge boost to their survival hopes.

Although a draw against one of the Premier League’s leading sides is a positive result for David Moyes’ men, they are still in serious danger of going down.

The Black Cats are currently 19th place in the Premier League table, and sit five points adrift of safety.

Sunderland are next in action at the weekend, when they take on fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.
