Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi has struggled to show his top form this season.

Stan Collymore has suggested that Aston Villa change Jordan Amavi’s position to left-midfield, to try and help him regain his form.

Amavi signed for Villa back in the summer of 2015, and he impressed in his initial few months at the club – when the claret and blues were in the Premier League.

However, a severe injury curtailed his progress, and he hasn’t shown the same sort of form since returning.

Amavi has not been the stand out player Villa were expecting him to be in the Championship this term.

And Colllymore has suggested that his former side should now move him into a more advanced role, to try and help him get his confidence back.

Amavi started last night as Villa fell to a 3-0 defeat against Brentford at Griffin Park.

The Villans went into the game with positivity around the club high, after a productive deadline day.

However, the defeat has dented much of the confidence that had been built up around Villa Park.

Steve Bruce’s side are currently in 14th place in the Championship table – 10 points back from the play off places.
