Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering the summer transfer plans already.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have already held discussions over their summer transfer plans having endured a quiet January period.

Spurs chose not to make any new signings in January, with Mauricio Pochettino avoiding a move during a notoriously difficult time of year in the transfer market.

Whilst struggling teams like Hull City, Crystal Palace and Swansea City were busy in the transfer market, the top six were quiet, with only Arsenal making a new signing – and that was non-league defender Cohen Bramall.

Despite reports from the Daily Mail suggesting that Tottenham had enquired about a late deadline day move for Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez, Spurs didn’t make any January additions.

The Daily Mail now report that whilst Tottenham weren’t desperate for January signings, they have already started thinking about summer moves, with Mauricio Pochettino plotting for next season.

It’s claimed that Tottenham have already held meetings over where to strengthen in the summer, when deals are easier to pull off than halfway through the campaign.

Another forward could be on Tottenham’s wish list given that summer signing Vincent Janssen has yet to impress since arriving from AZ Alkmaar, and Rodriguez – who worked with Pochettino at Southampton – could again emerge as a target.

Greater depth in defence and another pacey winger should also be on Pochettino’s wish list, with Tottenham arguably needing just more depth, given that their starting line-up is one of the best in the Premier League.
