Leeds United are set to take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park later this evening.
Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Owen Coyle is wrong to suggest that he should have been sent off against his Blackburn Rovers side when they met earlier in the campaign.
Leeds beat Blackburn 2-1 when they met at Elland Road back in September, but the game was not without controversy.
Green was booked in the opening stages when he brought down Sam Gallagher.
And Coyle was so frustrated with the decision to keep Green on the pitch that he brought it up in his press conference yesterday, ahead of Leeds’ second meeting with Blackburn in the league this season.
However, the Whites stopper has fired back at the Rovers manager, suggesting that the referee made the right call.

“I used to watch him play for Bolton as a full-blooded centre-forward,” he said.
“I remember him leaving a few challenges on keepers. If you’re talking about going for the ball in an honest effort to win it and a player getting sent off for a clash of bodies, each game will end up with five players on the pitch.
“He can talk about that as much as he likes, I’m sure it’s stuck in his head but we were grateful for the three points and we will be (tonight) if and when we win.”
Leeds’ win against Blackburn earlier in the campaign was arguably the turning point in their season.
Since that date, the Whites have been in brilliant form and have climbed the Championship table rapidly.
Leeds could close the gap on the automatic promotion spaces to four points if they are able to pick up the victory at Ewood Park, while Blackburn have the opportunity to move out of the bottom three with a win.
