The West Ham United boss allowed Reece Oxford to leave on loan in January.
West Ham co-chairman David Gold took to Twitter to shed some light on the reasoning behind Slaven Bilic’s decision to sanction Reece Oxford’s loan exit from the club on transfer deadline day, after the 18-year-old made the temporary move to Reading.
Feghouli’s message for Hammers fans
Many Hammers fans were baffled as to why the teenager was not given more game-time by the Croatian, after putting in such an impressive display during his Premier League debut away at Arsenal in August 2015.
And Gold tweeted how Bilic believed that Oxford’s development would be enhanced further by receiving regular first-team action in the Championship, rather than sitting on the West Ham bench.

And it would be hard to argue against that train of thought.
The Hammers co-owner posted the below message to his official Twitter account:
It will be interesting to see if the opportunity to play more regularly helps bring out the best in West Ham’s talented youngster.

The physical side of his game will most definitely be tested in the Championship, and in the long-run, that could prove to be hugely beneficial to his development.
Should West Ham have made a move for this mercurial winger on deadline day?
And the West Ham fans will be hoping to see one of their prized young assets flourish during the remainder of the season, and return to the club in the summer an even better player.
