Could Moussa Dembele make a shock switch from Celtic to Chelsea?
SkySports pundit Alan Smith has suggested that Moussa Dembele should consider moving from Chelsea to Celtic.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the striker, willing to offer £30 million – but Celtic want at least £40 million, The Guardian report.

Dembele is Celtic’s first choice striker and has scored at a prolific rate this season since signing from Fulham, and would risk sitting on the bench if he moved to Chelsea, like Belgian international Michy Batshuayi.

Former Arsenal forward Smith believes that it is still a switch which would greatly benefit Dembele, as he could learn a lot from Chelsea’s first choice striker Diego Costa.
Speaking to SkySports’ deadline day coverage at 10am, Smith said: “If they could get £40 million for him now that’d be some profit. He’s one of those strikers that excites you. He’s a very promising boy.
“There aren’t many better than Costa, his hold up play, he scores goals, training with somebody like that, it’d be a step up from Celtic. It’s a huge step up from the Scottish Premiership.”

One potentially remarkable aspect of a deal is that Dembele could win both the Scottish title and English Premier League in the same season, should he depart Celtic for Chelsea.
Both teams are runaway leaders at the top of their divisions, and while Celtic have no urgent need to sell, if Dembele makes it known that he wanted a move, then the Scottish side could look at cashing in, but the timescale and the striker’s actions so far suggests this won’t be happening, with the youngster happy where he is.
