Sheffield Wednesday are close to a deal to sign the Middlesbrough striker.
Middlesbrough have allowed Jordan Rhodes to discuss personal terms with Sheffield Wednesday, with the two clubs close to agreeing a £10 million fee for the striker, the Telegraph reports.
Rhodes is way down the pecking order at Boro, who have added Rudy Gestede and Patrick Bamford to their attacking ranks this window.
And the Scotland international is finally on the verge of ending his Riverside nightmare and linking up with dad Andy – the Owls goalkeeping coach – at Hillsborough.

Aston Villa had also been keen on a deal for Rhodes this window, but refused to meet Middlesbrough’s demands and are close to signing Brentford’s Scott Hogan instead.

Wednesday have already added former Barnsley striker Sam Winnall this month, but Lucas Joao’s departure to Blackburn on loan on Monday has created a vacancy which Rhodes looks set to fill.
Middlesbrough’s Jordan Rhodes celebrates
Rhodes, whose transfer fee is almost double the Yorkshire side’s record – which also went Middlesbrough’s way last August, has scored 91 goals in 189 Championship appearances for Blackburn and Boro.
Is Rhodes the man to fire Sheffield Wednesday back to the Premier League?
