Newcastle’s Townsend pursuit off
Sky Sports report that, after notching an assist against Bournemouth this evening, Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend won’t be making a move back to former club Newcastle United. The Magpies had hopes to lure him back to the club on loan until the end of the season, but Palace now intend to keep him at Selhurst Park.
Sakho set for Crystal Palace move
Liverpool defender Mamdaou Sakho has been completely frozen out by Jurgen Klopp this season, and hasn’t played at all this term. Now, the Frenchman is heading to London according to The Mirror, as Crystal Palace are set to snap him up on loan until the end of the season.
Gabbiadini completes Southampton switch
In one of the most protracted deals of the window, Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini has finally joined Southampton on a four-and-a-half year contract. The Italian striker has been snapped up to boost the Saints’ flagging attack, and joins Mouez Hassen in arriving on the South Coast on deadline.
Hull snap up N’Diaye
Hull have been busy working on a number of deals today, and they’ve snapped up powerful holding midfielder Alfred N’Diaye on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season. The Senegal international, formerly of Sunderland, arrives to bring some depth to Marco Silva’s midfield.
Leicester seal Wague loan move
Leicester suffered yet another defeat this evening as they lost 1-0 at Burnley, and manager Claudio Ranieri has strengthened his defence. Udinese defender Molla Wague has joined up with the Foxes this evening, with the Mali international centre back penning a loan deal until the end of the season.
Lee staying at Palace despite Aston Villa interest
Chung-yong Lee has been a bit-part player for Crystal Palace, but the Daily Mail report that the South Korean wide man will be staying at Selhurst Park despite major interest in his signature. Rivals Aston Villa and Birmingham allegedly went head-to-head over his signature, but he’s staying with Sam Allardyce’s men.
Wolves finally sign Marshall
Having pursued him throughout the month, Wolves have finally landed winger Ben Marshall from Blackburn Rovers. The 25-year-old worked with Wolves boss Paul Lambert at Blackburn, and they now reunite having beaten the deadline with a move this evening.
Ipswich confirm Chambers’ failed Forest return
Ipswich Town were hammered 3-0 at home to Derby County tonight, and manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed to the club’s official twitter account that a deal to send defender Luke Chambers back to former club Nottingham Forest has fallen through.
Birmingham to land Bielik
Birmingham’s terrible form under Gianfranco Zola continues, but the Italian has tonight confirmed that a deal is on the verge of completion for Arsenal’s Krystian Bielik. The young Pole, who can play at centre back or in holding midfield, is set to sign a loan deal with the Blues.
