Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the permanent signing of Costa for a reported £13 million.
Stan Collymore has urged Wolverhampton Wanderers fans to “be wary” after the club secured Helder Costa on a permanent transfer.
Costa has impressed since arriving at Molineux on loan from Benfica in the summer, attracting the attentions of several Premier League clubs, HITC Sport understands.

And that appears to have prompted Wolves to take up their option to sign the Portuguese winger on a permanent basis, and pay a reported £13 million to do so – smashing the club’s record transfer by £5.5 million.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Helder Costa celebrates
Understandably, the deal has created a fair amount mass excitement in Black Country – although Collymore, who played for Wolves as a youth, has expressed reservations about the club’s approach to transfers, which is influenced it seems, by Costa’s agent and adviser to Wolves’ owners, Fosun Internatonal, Jorge Mendes.
The former Aston Villa striker turned pundit posted on Twitter:
Costa is one of several Mendes clients, along with Ivan Cavaleiro, Joao Teixeira and Silvio, to have descended on Molineux since last summer’s takeover – an experiement which has brought mixed success.

Silvio, for example, has barely featured all season, while Teixeira’s form nosedived after a bright start, culminating in the termination of his loan deal and subsequent move to Nottingham Forest.
Should Wolverhampton Wanderers fans be concerned by Mendes’ influence?
