Rangers have snapped up goalkeeper Jak Alnwick today.

Rangers have completed the signing of Port Vale goalkeeper Jak Alnwick – and he has taken to Twitter tonight to comment on his move to Ibrox.

The Gers had brought two new signings to the club already this month, as midfielders Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman arrived from Arsenal and Bournemouth to bolster Mark Warburton’s side.

However, Warburton clearly felt that he needed another new face, and he swooped to land a new goalkeeper earlier this afternoon.

Rangers landed Port Vale goalkeeper Jak Alnwick on a three-and-a-half year deal, with the Daily Record reporting that the money involved is £250,000.

Alnwick, 23, has been one of the top goalkeepers in League One ever since joining Port Vale from Newcastle United in 2015, and his performances clearly attracted major interest.

Rangers, who will see Matt Gilks head back to England with Wigan Athletic in the near future, wanted to bring in a new goalkeeper to challenge Wes Foderingham, and they got their man with Alnwick.

Alnwick now reunites with former Sunderland youth team-mate Martyn Waghorn and ex-Newcastle team-mate James Tavernier at Ibrox, and he has tonight taken to Twitter to react to his move.

Alnwick admitted that it’s a ‘dream come true’ to join Rangers, adding that he’s looking forward to playing for the club, before sending a farewell message to former club Port Vale.
