Leeds bound Alfonso Pedraza was a target for Everton.
Alfonso Pedraza is set to sign for Leeds United, Spanish newspaper AS reported last night.
The 20-year-old is to join on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season, with Leeds having a mandatory option to buy if they win promotion.
Pedraza is a player with pedigree, having been part of Spain’s under-19 European Championship winning side in 2015.

He was also a transfer target for Everton last summer, with the Independent reporting he was set to become the first signing under new investor Farhad Mohsiri last summer.
The manager pushing that deal was Roberto Martinez, who was fired later that month, and Everton’s move for Pedraza fell by the wayside, with new boss Ronald Koeman prioritising elsewhere.

Pedraza signed on loan with Spanish second division side Lugo, where he has netted six goals and provided eights assists this season.
Everton’s interest in the winger shows that Leeds United have pulled off a potential coup by bringing in the prospect, and will hope he can provide a spark to help their promotion fight keep up its momentum.
