Nottingham Forest are currently in 19th place in the Championship table.

Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi has confirmed on the Jim White Show on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast on 30th January, that Nigel Clough is on his list of targets to take over at the City Ground.

Clough has become the heavily odds-on favourite to become the Reds’ next manager, following the dismissal of Philippe Montanier.

The Burton Albion boss has recently suggested that he would be interested in discussing the vacancy at the City Ground.

And Al-Hasawi has named Clough as one of his top targets to take over at Forest, although the owner has suggested that he could leave current caretaker boss Gary Brazil in charge for the time being.

“Clough is one on the list – maybe I go for Clough, maybe someone else, maybe Brazil until Summer and appoint then,” Al-Hasawi said.

Forest are next in action tomorrow evening, when they take on struggling Rotherham United.

Forest will be under pressure to get the three points, as they look to move away from trouble.

The Reds sit in 19th place in the Championship table – just five points above the drop zone.
