Leeds United are in the Championship playoffs at the moment.

Leeds United attacker Souleymane Doukara has revealed to The Yorkshire Evening Post a big difference between this season and the previous two years.

Doukara, who is 25 years of age and can operate as a striker or as a winger, has been on the books of Leeds since the summer of 2014.

Things did not go so well for the West Yorkshire outfit in the last two seasons, but this term it is looking very different.

Leeds are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 51 points from 28 matches and are genuine playoff contenders.

Doukara has outlined a difference in the mentality of the players this season.

“We had a good team in the first two years,” Doukara told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “There’s not much difference this year, apart from we now know each other and play together. We’re all agreed we can do something this year. That’s the big difference.

“But game after game we have to stay focused. Don’t look too far ahead. The manager tells us that every week and he’s right. We cannot think about (the end of the season) and how many points we want.”

Leeds will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Sutton United away from home at the Borough Sports Ground in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Garry Monk’s side will head into the match as favourites and will be expected to win with ease, but Doukara has warned against complacency.

“It makes no difference to me what the competition is,” Doukara told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “Sunday’s important because it is the next game. If we win, we can go play another big team. We want to win every game.

“Liverpool was good to play but if we want another game like that then we have to first win on Sunday. It will not be easy.”

Leeds will face Blackburn Rovers away from home at Ewood Park in the Championship on Wednesday evening.
