Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on Newcastle defender Grant Hanley.
According to The Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Paul Lambert is keen on a reunion with Newcastle United defender Grant Hanley before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Hanley, 25, impressed at Blackburn, but much like Lambert, left Ewood Park over the summer, with the giant defender heading to Newcastle whilst Lambert waited for his next managerial opportunity.

The Scotland international added depth to Rafael Benitez’s defensive options at St. James’ Park, but with competition for places from Jamaal Lascelles, Chancel Mbemba and Ciaran Clark, Hanley has been the odd man out for much of the campaign.
Hanley has started just one Championship game this season, and started just seven times in all competitions, with some shaky performances when he has been given a chance to play.

Now, The Sun report that Wolves boss Lambert is keen to reunite with his compatriot, with a move for the defender imminent ahead of the Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
It’s stated that, having suffered from a lack of first-team football at St. James’ Park, Hanley could now make a loan move to Molineux where he could earn a permanent move should he impress.
Ultimately, Hanley has struggled to make an impression with Newcastle in the Championship, and manager Benitez may already be looking at his squad in terms of who can make the step up to the Premier League – and Hanley may be one player that hasn’t shown enough to suggest he can adjust in the top flight.
The report adds that Wolves may raise funds for the move by selling young defender Kortney Hause, who has attracted Premier League interest during his time with the club.
