Aston Villa have reportedly agreed to send Aaron Tshibola on loan to Nottingham Forest.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest for midfielder Aaron Tshibola to join the City Ground club on loan.

Villa swooped to land Tshibola from Reading in a deal worth £5million (Mirror) over the summer, with some excitement surrounding his arrival at Villa Park.

Tshibola had impressed in limited appearances for reading, with many praising his athletic abilities in the middle of the park, and he was seen as a young midfielder that Villa could build their midfield around.

However, Tshibola has started just five league games this season, and he’s played just four times in total under Steve Bruce, with new competition throwing his future in doubt.

Midfielders Birkir Bjarnason, Conor Hourihane and Henri Lansbury have all arrived this month, and it seems that Tshibola is the odd man out, with a loan move set to be completed.

The Birmingham Mail report that a loan deal has been agreed with Nottingham Forest, and Tshibola will spend the rest of the season at the City Ground in order to play first-team football.

Forest have yet to appoint a new manager following Philippe Montanier’s sacking, but any new boss will now have Tshibola to work with, as Forest press ahead with new signings despite not having a manager in place.

Tshibola will hope to get more playing time at the City Ground, and fellow Villa midfielder Gary Gardner enjoyed a loan spell at Forest before emerging in the Villa first team, with Tshibola no doubt hoping for the same.
