Dimitri Payet is on his way back to Marseille from West Ham United.
West Ham United attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet has suggested on social networking site Twitter that he is on his way back to Marseille. The France international has posted the following photo on Twitter, hinting that he is on his way back to the Ligue 1 outfit.
Earlier this afternoon, West Ham announced on their official Twitter page that they have agreed on a £25 million fee with Marseille for the transfer of Payet. The Hammers signed the 29-year-old from the French club in the summer of 2015.
Payet was a huge success in the Premier League last season. The Frenchman scored nine goals and created 116 chances in 30 league matches during the 2015-16 campaign. So far this season, the attacking midfielder has scored two goals and created 72 chances in 18 league games.
It seems that the former Lille attacking midfielder is returning to his home country. West Ham fans will not be disappointed, as the rest of the team can now focus on the rest of the season. Payet’s presence on the pitch will be missed, but at least the club can now move on.
