The Anderlecht midfielder looks set to leave Belgium in the summer.

Belgian talent Youri Tielemans is set to leave Anderlecht in the summer, with Tottenham Hotspur said to be interested in his signature.

Anderlecht’s sporting director Herman van Holsbeeck has been commenting on the talented midfielder this week and seemed to suggest he could leave in the summer.

He also suggested to Het Nieuwsblad he would not be going anywhere for the money, with the report claiming Tottenham were the frontrunners along with Juventus and Atletico Madrid:

“His destination will depend on several factors.

“Youri knows he can hit very far and has a career plan in his head. He will not go to China, no. In Westerlo there were as many as 100 scouts in the stands.”

The fee being reported that Anderlecht want for their star player is €22 million (£18.75 million) which would certainly be in Spurs’ price range if they did follow up their interest in the player.

Tielemans is a 19-year-old Belgian talent considered by many to be one of the top young players in world football.

He made his international debut for Belgium last season and the teenager has been linked with Tottenham and plenty of other Premier League teams in the past.

Now it seems he might finally be moving on from his beloved Anderlecht and that Tottenham are in the thick of it when it comes to his potential signing.

Spurs fans will be right to keep tabs on the developments here.
