West Bromwich Albion have proved many people wrong so far this term.
Baggies skipper Darren Fletcher sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and shared their targets for the remainder of the season.
The 32-year-old has been the driving force behind West Brom’s fantastic first half of the season, helping them climb to eighth position in the Premier League table.
But the former Manchester United midfielder insisted he and his teammates are not getting carried away wth themselves just yet, when speaking to WBA.co.uk, and took a pragmatic approach, when asked where the club are aiming to finish in the league table:

“First and foremost, to get 40 points. If and when we reach that, we can look further ahead. Can we then get to 50 points? Can we finish seventh? Can we reach European football – if we can finish seventh and the Cup competitions worked in our favour, that’s what we should be aiming for. That`s what you want as a player. We want to play in games like that, games that will provide great memories to look back on.”
If the Baggies are to finish inside the top half of the table, let alone the top seven, Tony Pulis will most certainly have to strengthen his squad even further still.

West Brom’s struggles in the transfer market have been well documented over the past year or so, and they will have to reverse the trend of missing out on key transfer targets, if they want to truly progress as a football club.
Next up for the Black Country outfit is a trip to Teesside on Tuesday night to take on Middlesbrough in the Premier League.
