Fulham should target Middlesbrough man after reportedly dropping interest in Aston Villa striker.

Ross McCormack’s future at Aston Villa seems uncertain to say the least, and Fulham were reportedly leading the race to sign the Scottish striker.

The Scottish Sun are now claiming that the Cottagers have dropped their interest in the 30-year-old, however, (Scottish Sun).

Slaviša Jokanović’s men are certainly in need of another striker though, and they should consider a move for Middlesbrough’s Jordan Rhodes.

The 26-year-old Scotland international is clearly available this month, after falling down the striker pecking order at the Riverside Stadium.

Rhodes moved to Teesside from Blackburn Rovers in February 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £9 million, but has failed to establish himself as a key member of the Boro first-team.

A change of scenery could be exactly what the former Huddersfield Town man needs to reinvigorate his career, however, and Craven Cottage could be just the place to provide him with the platform from which to do just that.

He has scored 172 league goals throughout his career, and would obviously still pose a major goal threat, especially at Championship level.

He would also provide Jokanović with an entirely different option, and his ability to run in behind defenders could prove to be a huge asset for the West Londoners.

And with Fulham just five points adrift of the play-off spots, the signing of Rhodes could be just what they need in their quest to force their way inside the top six.
