Things just keep going from bad to worse for the Nottingham Forest owner.
Nottingham Forest fans would not have an easy decision if asked to choose their biggest problem with owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi.
But perhaps his inability to take responsibility, epitomised by his latest comments reported on BBC Nottingham Sport’s official Facebook page, takes the biscuit.
Al-Hasawi, who has frequently been the subject of protests from Nottingham Forest fans furious as the club continues to slide under his leadership, claimed that the appointment of Philippe Montanier in the summer was the decision of the club’s purported future owners.
In essence, he is absolving himself of any blame surrounding the decision to hand the job to a manager who had absolutely no Championship experience.
“We are meeting some [potential] new managers and I don’t want to rush this time. By the way, the manager who came before? He was not my choice. That was [the choice of] the owners who wanted to buy the club, they brought him, they wanted a foreign manager,” Al-Hasawi told BBC Nottingham Sport.
But that was only the tip of the iceberg.

The Kuwaiti businessman, who has employed six different managers in less than five years at the City Ground, also claimed that the club’s abysmal summer recruitment was not down to outside influences while also defending himself over the controversial sale of Oliver Burke late in the transfer window.
In times of need, as Nottingham Forest continue to slide ever further down the table, they need a strong leader at the helm. And, judging by the reaction of the poor, put-upon supporters, Al-Hasawi has somehow, someway, managed to make himself more unpopular than ever.
And, furthermore, it speaks volumes about Fawazz that Forest’s approach for Brian Clough, a bonafide club legend who made over 300 appearances over two spells, seems more like a futile attempt to sate the fans’ fury than a decision to improve the fortunes of the club. Remember Stuart Pearce?
