Newcastle United and Swansea City are both trying to sign Modou Barrow.
According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United’s move for Swansea City winger Modou Barrow has hit a snag at the last minute.
The Chronicle suggested yesterday that Newcastle were closing in on a deal to sign Barrow, and were set to announce his transfer in the next few days.

However, Newcastle and Swansea are struggling to meet a compromise over the conditions of the Gambian’s proposed loan.
Newcastle want to take Barrow on loan without the obligation to buy him at the end of the season.
Swansea, however, are keen to offload Barrow permanently, and insist that the Magpies put a clause which allows them to be him into the deal.

It now remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to meet a compromise and agree to a deal.
Newcastle are currently challenging for promotion for the Championship, while Swansea are fighting against the drop in the Premier League.
