Jese and Bojan unsure over Middlesbrough moves

Football Soccer - Paris St Germain v Nantes - French Ligue 1

HITC Sport understands Boro still working on deals for the PSG and Stoke stars.

Middlesbrough are battling to try and sign Spanish stars Jese and Bojan, but both have concerns about making the switch to Teesside, HITC Sport understands.

Having started just one game, coach Unai Emery has given the green-light for his exit, and both Middlesbrough and Las Palmas have made firm offers.

Boro are willing to take his sizeable wages for the rest of the season, something which Las Palmas cannot do, therefore PSG want him to move to England - but HITC Sport understands that the player has said no, as he does not believe he would be able to hit the ground running in the Premier League given such a short period of time to adjust, and instead he wants to move to Gran Canaria.

However, Boro are not giving up and their head of recruitment Victor Orta is still working on persuading him to make the move.

Likewise, Orta is also working on Bojan. HITC Sport understands that he has told Boro and Stoke that he only wants to move on loan initially, due to Middlesbrough's current Premier League status, which sees them sitting just above the relegation zone.

Stoke would ideally like a permanent deal, but Boro are hoping they will sanction a loan with a view to that - which Bojan would be happy with.

With West Ham United firm favourites to land another Boro target in the shape of Hull City's Robert Snodgrass - despite interest from Boro and Burnley, Orta is desperate to clinch the signing of at least one of Bojan or Jese, but ideally he would like both.

Whilst Boro have not landed any of their main targets, they will not allow want-away Uruguay star Gaston Ramirez to leave - despite interest from Leicester City and Bournemouth
