Rangers boss Mark Warburton has had the teenager scouted and he would be welcome at Ibrox.

It looks as though Scottish youngster Tony Gallacher is a wanted man, with it now being reported by the Daily Mail that Barcelona are in the hunt for the Falkirk player.

The 17-year-old left-back is a Scotland under-19 international who has also caught the eye of Celtic, Manchester United, Everton and Stoke City.

But Rangers are also keen.

The Herald Scotland recently reported that Rangers have regularly kept tabs on the player, who is making waves with the Bairns.

So Mark Warburton and the recruitment team at Ibrox must move fast to secure a deal for the teenager.

But how can Rangers beat off the interest of their Old Firm rivals, let along the superpower that is Barcelona?

Firstly, they must offer him a more likely run at first-team football. He would likely end up playing reserve football in Spain and Celtic already have Kieran Tierney in his position at left-back.

Rangers would now doubt have Gallacher in and around the first-team from the get-go – which is an appealing thought for such a young and hungry talent.

Secondly, Rangers remain a massive name in the game and Gallacher will no doubt want to play for such a prestigious club.

Rangers will have to move fast if they want to bring the player in, as there are plenty of serious suitors in the running for his signature.

But hopefully he ends up at Ibrox and not the Nou Camp.
