Could Keane be on his way to Queens Park Rangers?

Bookmakers Paddy Power have listed Queens Park Rangers as the 5/1 third favourites to sign Robbie Keane this month.

Keane, who has been heavily linked with a move to Preston North End, confirmed to Talksport last week that there are offers on the table from Championship clubs.

"I have got a few offers on the table," admitted the Republic of Ireland international, who is a free agent after leaving Los Angeles Galaxy last year.

"I definitely haven’t heard from Leeds or Wolves. There are a few other Championship clubs who I don’t want to mention at the moment.

"Keep this space, the next couple of weeks and we will see what happens."

QPR boss Ian Holloway is in the market for a new striker this winodw, having sold Sebastian Polter to Union Berlin at the start of the month.

The Bristolian, however, suggested to Get West London on Monday he is seeking a target man type to ease some of the burden on summer signing Idrissa Sylla.

Though Keane does not fit that particular criteria, the 36-year-old's impressive career goals haul - 317 in 726 club appearances - could make him hard for the R's to ignore.

Only Preston (17/10) and Sunderland (10/3) are priced at shorter odds than QPR, who unlike the pair have not been formally credited with an interest in the player.
