Everton could benefit greatly from having someone with the quality of the Paris Saint Germain striker amongst their ranks.

The future of Jese Rodriguez at Paris Saint-Germain remains far from certain, with a whole host of European clubs being linked with a move for the Spaniard.

The 23-year-old has failed to make the impact that was expected of him, following his big money move to Paris from Real Madrid in the summer, scoring just two goals in 14 outings for his club, although he has only been handed two starts by Unai Emery.

He is still an immensely talented player and, aided by a change of scenery, he could still reach the heights that many expected of him during the early stages of his career.

It could also be argued that being paired with Romelu Lukaku could help bring the best out in Jese.

He is renowned for his movement, and ability to run in behind the opposition defence, but when he has been utilised as an out-and-out striker for both Real Madrid and PSG, he has found it hard to influence games in the manner that is expected of a lone frontman.

He could be utilised in a wide attacking role for the Toffees, either on the right or left, and his pace and technical ability would most certainly lead to him being a real asset for Ronald Koeman.

He would also represent an upgrade on what the Dutchman currently has at his disposal at Goodison Park.

The Spaniard’s contract is not set to expire at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2021, so it is likely that Everton will not be able to sign him on the cheap.

PSG boss Unai Emery has admitted, however, that Jese could be allowed to leave the club this month (the Metro), so the fee needed to secure his signature may not be as extortionate as expected.

And Everton should seriously consider taking a gamble on the forward this month.
